So first, I would like to give a shout out to all the Military folks who are out there defending our country and defending my right to be an ass hat if I so choose. My closest friend is career military and words will never express my gratitude and pride in him for being able to do something that I know I could not and knew I could not 25 + years ago. I also would like to take a minute and remember those who have fought for this country's freedom and died for it whether in this life time or previous ones. Thank you!
Now, last week, we talked about favorite classes. I went with classes first because I wanted to be different but I also think that preferred class is a better start to a character over a preferred race. When I put my heart in to the build of a character, I decided what they were before I decided what race would suit the character. Probably one of my favorite combos was (and still is) a dwarven mage. Them little buggers are stout and hard to kill. They get decent hit points and resistances and can cast spells of the arcane to boot. Granted, they aren't much removed from Clerics but for some reason I never cared for the typical idea of a class race combination. Humans are by far the most versatile with the different classes Dwarves or elves always seem to get pigeon holed in to certain classes. Dwarf cleric, Elven ranger, human fighter, etc. In truth, again except for 5e, I think all the races work well with the classes you just have to decide what kind of a whatever it is you want to be. So tonight's blog, while short, is meant to put forth more discussion on the d&d world. So tell me, what is your favorite race to play? |
