Where was I tonight? Oh yea, I was playing X-Wing at:
Johnson City – Johnson City Plaza Shopping Center
2116 N Roan St – Suite 7
Johnson City, TN 37601
First, a note to everyone: There won't likely be a review on Tuesday next week unless I can get a game in for some more practice for the tourney I'm discussing tonight. The little one has a T-Ball Game on May 19th at 7:00 PM I believe so I won't be attending next week's session, sadly.
Tonight... well tonight sucked. I arrived already frustrated due to vehicle issues. Thanks again to Michelle for being so kind and letting me keep/use her vehicle as much as she has and can while I am trying to get this resolved. When this all settles down, I'll have to fix her and hers a good steak dinner! Anyway, back to tonight. Tonight, we had next to no visitor's. Reuben showed up but he didn't get to play because he was a little to late. Brandon opted not to play so that James and I could get some practice in for this tourney we are going to on June 4th at DeWayne's World here in Kingsport.
The basics are pretty simple, it standard rules plus achievement points. There are the standard debris fields as option and there will be an ion or nebula cloud in the dead nuts center of the board that does all kinds of nifty things. I'll have to see about linking the rules for you to check out.

The toughest thing about this is the 70 point max/min 3 ship limit. They are giving each faction a choice of two special abilities. Personally, I think the IMPs and Scum get better options but that's just my opinion and I didn't set this tourney up.
So tonight I play James and he ran a 3 interceptor list. One of which is mini-vader, i Mean Soontir Fel so I decided to give the Rebels list I built a shot. I lost, predictably. I actually wonder why I play these games sometimes because I truly suck at table top mini games. BUT, MEH, it was fun and that's all that matters. I ran a beefed up Wedge by way of R2 D2, Proton Torpedos, and Munitions Fail Safe and to Z-95 Headhunters with Prockets. My only real mistake, as was pointed out to me is that I did bad Wedge placement but I don't quite look at it the way every one else did. The first round, I thought I'd be cool and give James initiative since I won and he returned the favor by giving me init in Game 2. (What's that, we managed two games?! Oh that's because the tourney is 30 minute rounds... it's rough). Both times I kept Wedge a little separate from the other two because I figured I could close him in from behind them or loop around the board. Having never played a tourney or a 30 minute round, this was truly a mistake. Thought it would not have mattered as I was fighting 3 interceptors which are some speedy lil buggers. So I need to rethink my list for this tourney.
Anyway, that's this weeks' X-Wing review. Sorry, no pics tonight. I was so caught up in practice I forgot.
