First, apologies. It's been far to long since I gave a post. Again I have been fighting illness. This one started out as what I thought was a sunburn and ended up being cellulitis. Not a fun battle to fight and I hope none of you ever have to deal with it.
Moving forward, tonight is...that's right, Tuesday which means it's time for another X-Wing broadcast. This week, we had James versus Cody. James was running Manaroo Jumpmasters and Cody was running a mix of a Jump Master and and IG2000 I believe. I only got the barest of glimpses before I setup for my soon to be butt beating. Then we had Brandon Maynard versus Josh Holt ( I think that was him but I was distracted so I might be wrong). No clue what these boys were flying but they seemed to enjoy their game. The final match-up was between myself and Brandon's brother, Eric. Eric was running a 5 Z-95 with Feedback Arrays and a HWK to my Carnor and four ties.
It was a genuine pleasure to fly against Eric. I have only been playing this game for a few months now and all of my opponents have been incredible. Eric is no exception to that rule. He made the game fun we laughed as I died... it was nice. I learned a lesson tonight; much as I do every night, from this match up. Tonight's lesson is that I dislike Feedback Arrays and that if I ever see them again I will promptly SLOW THE HELL DOWN and RUN THE OTHER WAY! Those things are disgustingly effective so I will learn to keep them at range 3. I also learned better how to fl y in formation and normally, I think, that would have been a good thing to do. However, when you are running against a set of ships that WANT you in their jock, that's not a good thing, LOL. I am glad I got the chance to play Eric and look forward to more opportunities.
I am not sure if this is the list I'll take to the tournament this weekend. That depends on practice sessions on Friday. I might switch it up to something else but I need to settle and quick. I am familiar with this list which is a plus but I haven't decided if I really like it or not.
That's all for now folks. See you for next week's Xwing!
